Great game, very creative use of the mechanics. A bit too hard for me haha but it's fine.

Thanks Gabe and congrats on your game, haven't played it yet but I've seen it going well :)
Got an unity error right after I defeated the fire boss... A shame, I was really enjoying the game! Great work!
Thanks! I will check that error. But don't worry, that boss is the last one of this chapter, so you have completed the game ;)
Really enjoyed the gameplay and the narrative going on here, and how one plays into the other. My only complain is that the boss is a bit broken... The challenge is good, but sometimes it feels unfair when he combos me into basically a one hit kill. Besides that, great game!
The boss it's probably the section that was harder to figure out in terms of how difficult it has to be. It can feel unfair because if you start getting hit it's really hard to get out of his reach, but in a way it's supposed to be so... At a certain point I just gave up overthinking it, I let some friends play it, they said that was hard but doable so well, there it is :D
Thanks for playing!
Good one! I really like the disempowering mechanic this game has, it makes narrative sense and helps to convey and invite us to think about the situation the game presents, on which many of us here will relate. Congrats!
Thank you so much! The fact that we all can relate to this in some way it's, imo, what elevates the game in some way. I mean, to be honest, it's not the best game in the world, it's quite small and simple, but the connection people tell me that they get from this little thing is what makes it great, at least in my opinion. I'm very proud of it!
Fantastic concept, and fairly well executed! I just can't figure out how to beat the king itself, I tried everything but I can't seem to damage him.
Thank you so much! The lifebar is a bit bugged, i'm afraid- you do damage him, but it takes a while before it shows red in the bar. You won't do enough damage unless you manage to catch him on fire, though!
You see, this is the kind of stuff that I expect from Newgrounds. Good one!
Haha thx!
Unfortunately the screen is dark for me, only the text is visible, so the game is unplayable :/
EDIT: Fixed :)
That problem is due to browser settings. Give the last section of the description a look.
If you improve level design and pacing, this will be a great game!
Cheers! Thanks for playing!
The last level seems to be a bit too random, also the game is too short I feel. But other wise, great game!
Kind words, thank you! Completely agree with your assessment. Wish I had had some more time to add content but with Ludum Dare last weekend it's been a bit of a squeeze and with the deadline for the jam being today, I polished what I could and published what I had. Hope people can find a few minutes of enjoyment in there somewhere.
Art is amazing, but I feel the action is a bit slow and repetitive, also I feel there'snot much space to navigate, specially with many obstacles and big bullets.
Yeah, if I had time I would've tried to juice up the action a bit more but unfortunately I wasn't able to cus of time constraints. Also I definitely should've made the playable areas a bit bigger, looking back on it.
